Mary Tuck Echols is a member of the Co ART Gallery and of the Beverley Street Studio School where she has studied and taught since 1992. Her drawings, paintings and monotypes have been exhibited in a number of one-person and invitational shows in area galleries, including the Shenandoah Valley Art Center, the Staunton/Augusta Art Center, the University of Virginia Law Library, Washington and Lee University, Green Hills Galleria in Verona, and the Nelson Fine Arts Gallery in Lexington.

Mary T. Echols received a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Virginia and an M.A. from the University of Southern California. She taught at Mary Baldwin College from 1968 to 1991. Before coming to Staunton, she taught and frequently exhibited in Italy, Chile, Peru, Brazil and Haiti. After her retirement from MBC, she organized and taught Beverley Street Studio School travel-study programs in Italy with Frank Hobbs and in France with Jan Olsson.

Her works have received numerous awards and are included in a number of private and public collections, among them the Augusta Medical Center, Washington and Lee University, Lynchburg College, and Mary Baldwin College.
