Members Awards and Exhibits

Joy Tartter: Will be donating 50% of the proceeds of her art sales at the W'boro City Building and her SVAC studio to the hurricane relief fund through The Sal-vation Army. $500 has already been donated. Julia Lesnichy: Will be giving a pastel workshop focused on light and color in painting landscapes at Spitzer arts center in Harrisonburg on November 18, 10 a.m. -2 p.m. For more information please contact Jennifer Tremblay at spitzerdi-rector@gmail.com.

Joan Ranzini

Joan Ranzini: and Sue McCoy will exhibit their artwork in a two person show at the Carnegie Hall Gallery in Lewisburg, WV during the months of November and December. The show is titled "McCoy and Ranzini: Concept and Materials". The gallery is located at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, West Virginia and is open Monday through Saturday 10am-4pm.

Joan also had three paintings accepted into the 9th Annual Juried Art Show at Riverviews Artspace in Lynchburg, Virginia. The exhibition runs November 3 through December 15 in the Craddock-Terry Gallery, 901 Jefferson Street, Lynchburg, VA. The exhibition will open on Friday November 3rd. Voting for a “People’s Choice” award will run through November 30th. The results will be announced Friday, December 4th.

Peg Sheridan

Will have a piece in the Virginia Watercolor Society show in Winchester, from October 14- Jan. 7.

She has been selected to be a part of a show called "Painting Virginia", which will take place at the Wayne Theater in Waynesboro, Dec. 7, 2017-Feb. 25, 2018.

Peg will be leading a trip with botanical/wildlife painter Betty Gatewood to Maine (Sept 6-14, 2018), featuring painting workshops and the many wonders of Acadia National Park. Get with Peg or BSSS for details.

 Sue Rosen: won an award at the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild's Annual Juried Exibit for her painting, "Journey".

Katharine March:   Participated in Plein Air Paint Outs in Ocean City, MD; Lexington, Va; and Hillsborough, NC. 

Barbara Phillips:  Lynchburg 2017 Art Festival Award winner. 

Astrid Tuttle:  Lynchburg 2017 Art Festival Award winner.

Karen Rosasco: will have a show in the Oakroom Artists Gallery, Schenectady, NY for the month of November. There will be 25 pieces on the wall and over 25 smaller pieces available for sale only during the reception, Sunday, November 5 from 1:30 - 3:30.

Karen will also have 4 pieces in the Abend Fine Art Gallery in Denver, CO for the December Holiday Show.

During the months of December and January 30 of Karen's paintings will hang at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.

Karen, with Sue Rosen, will be a part of a new permanent booth at the Cross-roads Gallery in Richmond featuring 8 artists of the Shenandoah Valley.
