Members Awards and Exhibits

SVAC  Juried Members Show:  Joan Menard and Chris Watts won honorable mentions.

Chris Watts and Debra Sheffer won honorable mention Awards at the VMRC Art Show in Harrisonburg, VA

Chris Watts: will be showing at Shenandoah Pizza during June and July.

Karen Rosasco: will continue her monthly critiques at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center. The next sessions  are resuming on September 14.    Karen's painting: "Anything Goes", which celebrated the 100th anni-versary of Ella Fitzgerald's birthday, was chosen to be displayed in two cities in China's Sichuan province for 8 months.

 Peg Sheridan: Is now teaching watercolor classes at BSSS and at the Larkin Arts Center in Harrisonburg (bssschool.org and www.larkinarts.com for more info.).   Peg has been juried in to the Floyd Plein Air Festival, which will take place Au-gust 14-19, 2017.

Katherine March: Participated in the Mountain Maryland Plein Air paint out June 19- June 24.  She will be participating in an invitational Plein Air show at the Spitzer Gallery in Harrisonburg during July-August.

Janet Dance: was awarded the Founder's Choice Award at Art Speaks on the Bay, the 5th annual juried exhibit in Mathews, VA.

Sue Rosen: is showing new work at the Lemon Tree Gallery in. Cape Charles, VA.  She also won an award of merit 
in the Annual Art Speaks Juried show at The Bay School on Mathews County.

Participating in the 25 year Beverley Street Studio Exhibit are Astrid Tuttle, Julie Farrell, Bill Flournoy, Barbara Phillips, Joan Ranzini, Deborah Sheffer, Virginia Deane and Janet Dance.

The Shenandoah Valley Art Center’s "Local, Landmarks, and Landscapes" show, the first use of their newly added gallery space, (Through July 30), includes works by: Astrid Tuttle, Maribeth Nolde, Chris Watts, Peg Sheridan, Karen Rosasco and Sue Rosen.

Maribeth Nolde: has work in the Shenandoah County Government Center in Woodstock, showing until July 13th, as part of an open photography show sponsored by the VECCA and 7 Gallery East in Woodstock.

Nancy Spahr: Will exhibit her show, "Nesting in", works in mixed media, at the Frances Plecker Education Center, James Madison University, through August 31st. (Week days, business hours only).  Additional recent works by Nancy can be seen on her website, Spahrart.com.
